Maldonado Speaks at VEA Event

On January 16, Del. Maldonado met with Virginia Education Association members who traveled to Richmond for VEA's "Strong Schools, Strong Communities" Lobby Day. The VEA is a union dedicated to advancing quality instruction and curriculum, adequate funding, and excellent working conditions for Virginia's public school employees.

The day's focus was to bring concerns to the attention of legislators, with a goal of addressing underfunding of public schools and low teacher salaries relative to peers nationwide. Del. Maldonado joined Senator Mamie Locke, Newport News Education Association President Dr. James Graves, and Virginia NAACP President Robert N. Barnette, Jr. as a speaker during the day's events.
