On August 12, 2022, Del. Michelle Maldonado was the keynote speaker for a community symposium on "Combatting Religious and Racialized Hate Crimes and Violence." The virtual symposium, hosted by the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy (VICPP), was the culmination of the VICPP's "Together in Faith" project, which was undertaken in partnership with the Prince William County Police Department.
"On this fifth anniversary of the deadly rally in Charlottesville, it was an honor to be the keynote and share messages with Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine on combating religious and racialized hate crimes and violence," Maldonado said. "My heartfelt thanks and gratitude [go out] to speakers, panelists and attendees!"
The discussion was moderated by Deaconess Andrea Bailey, Vice Chair, Prince William County Board of Supervisors.
